1oz Gold Surveying Cheetah

R139 995,00

The design is masterfully modelled after the original wildlife bronzes of internationally celebrated South African artist Dylan Lewis. Translating his rugged, three-dimensional physical sculptures into a palm-sized gold coin required meticulous technical engineering to preserve the intense muscle definition, deep texture, and visual drama.

Description

As the first-ever high-relief proof coin series from the South African Mint, The African Range elevates bullion into sculptural art. This debut 2026 issue, titled Survey, depicts the very first moment of the hunt, capturing a tense, poised, and hyper-aware cheetah studying its surroundings from atop a tree trunk. The coin is struck from one troy ounce of .9999 pure gold and features an ultra-high-relief proof finish that provides unparalleled physical depth and dramatic dimension to the artwork. The visual narrative is split dynamically across both sides of the coin. The reverse features the surveying cheetah in its natural environment, while the obverse showcases a highly detailed, cropped portrait of the majestic animal. This exclusive edition is strictly limited to a worldwide mintage of just 550 coins, ensuring its status as a rare collector’s item. To match its prestige, each coin is securely housed in a premium display box and comes accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity along with an exclusive 28-page design booklet detailing the artistry behind the piece
