The African Range is a unique five-year coin program from the South African Mint, with each annual release detailing a specific stage of a cheetah’s hunt: Survey, Stalk, Chase, Catch, and Repose. This 2026 debut edition captures the Survey phase: a moment of stillness, intelligence, and intense focus before action. The reverse design features a cheetah in a poised surveying stance on a tree trunk, rendered in dramatic high relief for exceptional sculptural depth and lifelike detail. The common obverse presents a refined, dynamic bust of the animal. Crafted from 5 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, the coin has a diameter of 50mm and strikes a perfect balance between art and numismatics. Each coin is presented in a display box complete with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
